The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) employs more than 1,900 members statewide – either at headquarters in Tallahassee or in one of seven regional operations centers (ROCs). Services are delivered by five key areas: Executive Direction and Business Support; Investigations and Forensic Science; Florida Capitol Police; Criminal Justice Information Services; and Criminal Justice Professionalism.

MISSION:
To promote public safety and strengthen domestic security by providing services in partnership with local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies to prevent, investigate, and solve crimes while protecting Florida citizen’s and visitors.

Curriculum Development:
Our developers work closely with subject-matter experts to create textbooks, instructor guides, and stand-alone courses for criminal justice officers across the state of Florida. This position requires the ability to work in a collaborative writing environment, do research, collect data, and create curriculum specifically designed for adult learners. The position also requires excellent facilitation and customer service skills.
Distance Learning & Publishing:
This position requires incumbents to use instructional design methods to create both instructor-led materials and online training. They also review courses periodically to update and improve the content. Throughout these processes, they work closely with subject-matter experts and other curriculum stakeholders to provide instructional resources that meet the training needs of Florida’s law enforcement, correctional, and correctional probation officers.
