As the dispatcher receives a call, his first duty is to assess the information provided by a caller and then to decide which department is the most relevant. After deciding the relevant department the dispatcher transfers the call while making the caller calm. The dispatchers work in a team and are on rotating duties 24/7. A dispatcher also has to keep logs of calls, requests, and responses of police department.  

Salary: The Average Salary of a dispatcher is $11-$15 per hour. The rate of over time is $19-$24. The salaries are being increased on bases of call quality and experience of the dispatcher. 



Crime Analyst 

A crime analyst works in an office and provides the assistance required for settlement of police cases. 

Education and training: The requirement for applying for this job is a bachelor’s degree in the field of criminal justice or some other related field. On selection you are provided with the training that is required to perform the duties. Education and training:  There are no specific educational requirements about the degree for this position. A standard high school or an equivalent degree is enough for you to land at this job.
